This book contains masnun duas or the duas which were taught by the Prophet Muhammad. Dua is a noble form of dhikr or remembrance of Allah. By learning these daus and recitng them at the appropriate occasions, our every action is turned into ibadah. Our sleeping, eating, drinking, dressing, etc, all assume the form of ibadah. Constant and conscious recital of the various duas at their appropriate time fixes the remembrance of Allah in the hearts. These duas of the Prophet draw the faithful closer to his Creator. Therefore, it is of absolute necessity that all Muslims learn and recite the various duas. Felicity and success will be the result, insha Allah.

The author, through his study of science, religion, psychology and the experiences of his own life, enlightens about the path to discovery of God through one’s journey of life. A discovery of this kind involves pondering on the word of God, converting one’s material experiences into spiritual insights, constant introspection, and contemplating on the numerous phenomena of the universe. He develops the ability to engage in positive thinking even in unpleasant situations. The personality that undergoes this spiritual process is deserving of being settled in Paradise in the Hereafter

God and the Universe

The Quran, a book which brings glad tidings to mankind along with divine admonition, stresses the importance of man's discovery of truth on both spiritual and intellectual planes. Every book has its objective and the objective of the Quran is to make man aware of the Creation plan of God. That is, to tell man why God created this world; what the purpose is of settling man on earth; what is required from man in his pre-death life span, and what he is going to confront after death. The purpose of the Quran is to make man aware of this reality, thus serving to guide man on his entire journey through life into the after-life. The main themes of the Quran are enlightenment, closeness to God, peace and spirituality. The Quran uses several terms, tawassum, tadabbur, and tafakkur, which indicate the learning of lessons through reflection, thinking and contemplation on the signs of God scattered across the world. The present translation of the Quran and its explanatory notes are written keeping in mind these very themes.

The book aims at developing a spiritual bent of mind in its reader. The author believes that to attain spirituality one does not need to retire to the jungles, rather one must live in the midst of all the activities of the world and develop the ability to convert material events into non-material or spiritual events. According to the author, “If you want to live as a spiritual person, learn the art of extraction. That is, you have to be able to extract spiritual content from material things. This will give you spiritual food, and thus you will be able to develop yourself as a spiritual person.”Spiritual living is the greatest need of the day and in the various chapters of the book, the author enlightens the reader on how to deal with day-to-day problems of failure, stress, unhappiness and conflict.
